1. High luminous efficiency of LED light source
Comparison of luminous efficiency: incandescent lamp efficiency is 10-15 lm, halogen tungsten lamp efficiency is 12-24 lumens/watt, fluorescent lamp 50-90 lumens/watt, sodium lamp 90-140 lumens/watt, most of the power consumption becomes heat loss.
LED light efficiency: can be sent to 50-200 lumen/watt, and good monochromism, narrow spectrum, without filtering, can directly emit colored visible light.
2. Low power consumption of LED light source
The power of single LED transistor is 0.03-0.06 W, driven by DC, and the driving voltage of single LED transistor is 1.5-3.5 V. Current 15-18 mA reflects fast and can be operated at high frequencies. When used in the same lighting effect, the power consumption is one ten thousandth of that of incandescent lamp and one half of that of fluorescent tube. Japan estimates that it can save 6 billion liters per year by replacing half of the incandescent lamp and fluorescent lamp with LED whose light efficiency is two times higher than that of fluorescent lamp. Crude oil, with the same effect, has a fluorescent lamp of more than 40 watts, while the power of each LED is only 18 watts.
3. Long service life of LED light source
Incandescent lamp, fluorescent lamp and halogen tungsten lamp adopt the characteristics of electronic light field radiation, filament burning easily, thermal deposition and light attenuation, while LED lamp is small in size, light in weight, and encapsulated in epoxy resin. It can withstand high-strength mechanical impact and vibration, and is not easy to break. The average life of LED lamp is 30,000 to 50,000 hours. The service life of LED lamp can reach 3-5 hours. It can greatly reduce the maintenance cost of lamps and avoid the trouble of changing lamps frequently.
4. Safety and reliability
Low calorific value, no thermal radiation, cold light source, safe touch, can accurately control the light type and luminous angle, light color and, no glare, no mercury, sodium elements and other substances that may endanger health.
5. LED light source is beneficial to environmental protection
LED is a kind of all-solid light-emitting material, which is impact-resistant and not easy to break, waste can be recycled, no pollution can reduce the production of harmful gases such as sulfur dioxide and nitride, and carbon dioxide to improve people's living environment. It can be called "green lighting source".
There are three kinds of white LED technology at present: one is to use the principle of three primary colors and three kinds of ultra-high brightness LEDs, red, green and blue, which can be produced, to mix into white according to the ratio of 3:1:6 of light intensity; the other is to use ultra-high InGan blue LED with a little yttrium diamond pomegranate as the main phosphor, which can produce yellow under the excitation of blue light. Green light, yellow-green light and blue light can also be transpired into white light. Three kinds of ultraviolet LED are not made, using ultraviolet light to stimulate tricolor phosphors or other phosphors, to produce white light mixed with multi-color.
6. LED light source is more energy-saving
Of course, energy-saving is the main reason why we consider using LED. Perhaps LED is more expensive than traditional light sources, but it takes one year to save energy to recover the investment of light sources, so as to achieve a net energy-saving cap period of several times per year in 4-9 years.

Constant current source drive is the best way to drive the LED. Constant current source drive is adopted. It does not need series current limiting resistors in the output circuit. The current flowing through the LED is not affected by external power supply voltage changes, ambient temperature changes, and the discreteness of LED parameters. Therefore, the constant current can be maintained and the excellent characteristics of the LED can be fully developed.
The constant current power supply of LED is used to supply power to the LED lamps. Because the current flowing through the LED is automatically detected and controlled during the power supply operation, there is no need to worry about excessive current flowing through the LED when the power is switched on, nor about short circuit burning out the power supply under load.
Lamp housing
LED lamp has the characteristics of high efficiency, environmental protection and long life. But common people will find that because of the brightness of the LED, it is easy to make the light energy into heat energy, which makes the LED lamp very hot. At this time, if the LED can not heat as soon as possible, its life will be greatly reduced.
Many LED manufacturers use aluminium shell for LED lamps. Aluminum shell is easy to heat dissipation, exquisite appearance, light weight, many high-end electronic products are made of aluminum shell. For example, Apple's Mac Pro high-end computer series uses an all-aluminium case, which makes it easy for laptops to heat up, so that computers don't even need fans.
The use of aluminium shell can increase the life of the lamp core and make the LED lamp look beautiful. But the aluminium lamp cup is expensive, and the production cost is very high. The lamp cup needs to be processed by lathe. Therefore, some high-quality, medium-quality LED lamps will use aluminum lamp housing.
Another common LED lamp shell is a plastic shell. Because of the low cost of plastic shell, some low-end LED lamps will use plastic shell. But plastic shells are not easy to heat, and when plastic is heated, it is easy to melt and sublimate to produce harmful gases. So no plastic case is used in Europe, North America or Japan. Due to the large demand for cheap LED lamps in some parts of the country, plastic case sales in China are very large.
